AMbelievable™ is the lightest tennis racket dampener worldwide. That means a more lightweight racket system overall, thus a more balanced center of mass. Depending on the device's configuration, the total weight spans between 0.5 and 1.3 grams —up to 75% less than the minimal mass of a traditional string dampener. The reason lies in a totally new functioning principle (patent pending), which relies on complex geometries that only 3d printing can create. Our racket dampener inner structure occupies just a fraction of the total device volume —typically between 10% and 45%.
Racquet vibration dampeners typically have a filled shape, which by nature resist to the air flow. By contrast, the AMbelievable™ tennis dampener has hollow structure that allows the air flow to pass through the device, almost without resistance. That's a small change, yet an important advantage over longer play —especially if combined with a ultra-lightweight structure such as the AMbelievable™ Dampener's one.
Research has shown that the typical vibration profile of a tennis racket-system has three main peaks: low frequencies (100-120 Hz) belong to the frame of the racket, mid frequencies (250-350 Hz) and high frequencies (around 650-750 Hz) belong to the strings type and their tensioning. Not all vibrations are bad, though. "Feeling" the racket can be crucial; however, some vibration frequencies can produce unwanted, harmful effects, eventually speeding up fatigue and affecting your performance. Most important, stressing your elbow can facilitate the insurgence of inflammatory issues. The AMbelievable™ tennis shock absorber is engineered to absorb vibrations selectively, delivering a totally new playing experience.
Almost all string dampeners are made of silicon or similar rubber-like material. That allows the device to absorb vibrations more effectively, depending on its mass. Indeed, it is well-documented that traditional dampeners have a minimum mass requirement. According to recent studies performed by leading dampener producers, the optimal mass of a string dampener is in the range of 3-to-7 grams. Translated, a dampener with a mass below that threshold won't produce any perceivable absorption effect. The AMbelievable™ tennis racquet dampener acts differently. Thanks to its unique topology, the racket vibrations aren't just absorbed; the structure's elastic response additionally intercepts them . That's why our dampener can be lightweight, while simultaneously improving absorption performances.
Greenwashing is everywhere, so we put some cautious thinking before writing this paragraph. However, our device is more sustainable since weextensively use 3D printing. First, our racquet vibration dampener's development process was much faster than a "classic" development requirement, and no molds were produced during the testing or production phases. More importantly, we can make the dampener on demand (the production process takes a few minutes per part) by leveraging a distributed network of facilities —all we need is a Laser 3D Printer and a few grams of TPU powder. That's not all, though. TPU is an elastomer with outstanding mechanical properties, but it's also among the few industrial 3d printing materials that is 100% recyclable!
